Phillippa's Biscuits 200g Anzac
Based on a traditional Scottish recipe, using wheat flour, rolled oats, coconut water, unsalted butter and golden syrup, but no eggs. Their nutty, oaty, caramel flavour and crisp texture makes them ever-popular at morning tea. They’re also great for the children’s lunch box.
During WWI, the wives, mothers and sweethearts of Australian Soldiers, concerned for the nutritional welfare of their men, sent them biscuits based on a Scottish receipe. By the 1920s, they became known as Anzac Biscuits, in honour of the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought in the Great War.
